Tales of the Rabbit and the Star

There was a night
When the rabbit gazed at the sky
Through the horizon
The wind blew and the cloud moved
Like a diamond buried down the earth
It was shining splendidly

The rabbit immediately fell in love
With the brightest star the rabbit had ever seen
The rabbit always thought of the star at the day
And searched for the star at the night

Days by days passed
The rabbit didn’t have anyone to share
And yet, the rabbit didn’t want to share it with anyone
But the rabbit felt lonely
The rabbit needed someone to talk to

So there came the wind
The rabbit told the wind her feelings
How she was amazed with the star
How bright it was
How stunning it was

But the rabbit wasn’t sure of herself
She was just a rabbit, yet it was a star
Hanging glamorously up in the sky
How could a rabbit like her reach a star?

Then the rabbit thought to forget all of this
But the wind ragingly shouted at her
Why she always concluded things that even hadn’t happened
The wind decided to help the rabbit
The wind went through the sky
The wind then met the star

Surprisingly, the star told the wind everything
He told the wind that he saw a rabbit down there
He told the wind that he wanted to know more
He told the wind that he wanted to go down there

The rabbit couldn’t describe her feelings
When the star started the conversation that night
The rabbit couldn’t stop smiling
And she couldn’t help herself to not thinking about the star
The whole night

It kept going like that
They chit-chatted like they were friends
The rabbit always hoped they could be friends
But somehow, rabbit was rabbit and star was star
They couldn’t be any more than that

It had become habit
For the rabbit to call the star
And for the star to look down for the rabbit
It had become habit
For the rabbit to think about the star every night and day
But it was unclear about the star

The rabbit remembered
The star once told her that she was like the moon
Shining so bright that it could blind him
Being so graceful that it could always distract him
But now the rabbit realized
She and the moon was so much different
The moon could always there with star while she couldn’t
The moon was in the same world as the star
The rabbit wasn’t like the moon
The rabbit would always be rabbit
The one who could only admire the sky from the earth

The rabbit ran away as fast as she could
The rabbit tripped fell and hurt
The rabbit wanted to cry
But she always told herself to not to
The rabbit then lost her hope
And started to see through all of this
It was impossible since the beginning
There wasn’t any rabbit could reach the sky
It was impossible
So impossible to be true

Now the rabbit could only walk back
To where she belonged
To where she was supposed to be
To keep on moving
To wake up from her nice yet hurt daydreaming
Or was it night dreaming?
The rabbit wasn’t sure anymore
But she was sure to not continue all of this
Even though she had to endure the pain
Every time she saw the star in the sky
Even though she had to struggle
Turning down her feelings
Every time she heard his name
She would do all the pain
She would keep on walking
To her goals since the start
Since when she had ever met the star
And pretend like she had nothing to pretend
Pretend like she was not hurt
Pretend that she was okay.
.
.
.
The rabbit was okay.
.
The rabbit continued her life.
.
Like there was nothing happened before.
.
Keep on pursuing her dream.
.
Because the rabbit was okay.
.
.
.
to be continued.
